PROCESS

With the right team, building your dream home isn’t stressful; it’s exciting and fun.

Your custom home begins with your wish list, your inspiration, and the expertise of our veteran design team. Our production team proudly takes over from there and confidently builds your home to exceed almost every measure of efficiency, eclipse almost every building standard, and nail every deadline. The result is a beautifully designed, energy-efficient, rock solid family nest designed specifically for your lifestyle.

STEP 1: INITIAL DESIGN MEETING

Sit down with our in-house designer, Mark Englund. Tell Mark your goals and ideas for your home and discuss other homes that inspire you. Mark begins drafting a plan right in front of you which kicks off the exciting design process.

STEP 2: PLAN REVIEW

Review the drafted blueprints with Mark and season them to taste. Discuss your home’s specifications and the layout of the house on the lot. As you iterate toward your final design, our other experts will chime in to ensure structural requirements and code specifications will be met.

STEP 3: INTERIOR PLANNING & DESIGN

This is what most people call the “fun part.” Your meeting will take place here at our Design Center, a mini wonderland one-stop-shop of choices for the interior of your home. Meet with Nancy and the rest of our in-house interior design team to create custom selections that will make your home one-of-a-kind.

Technology Meeting

Meet with our service technician who will walk you through the placement of your data, phone, and cable jacks, as well as the electrical and lighting layout of your home. All things technology will be considered so that your home’s functionality is as smart or as simple as you like. No more wishing for an outlet in an obvious (or not so obvious) place.

Plan Review Meeting

Meet with our Customer Experience Manager, Julie, to review the final plans for your home, inside and out. We look at budget, schedule, and the overall plan, and answer any questions you may have about your dream home. From this point on, Julie is your go-to woman. You can think of her as your personal custom home concierge.

STEP 4: CONSTRUCTION

Once plans are complete, we submit for permits, and prepare for excavation and construction. Breaking ground is an exciting step, and homeowners are invited to follow along every stage of the process through our project management software. Log in to the online system to view progress photos of your home, see the detailed calendar, track your change orders, and ask us any questions.

STEP 5: MOVE-IN & SERVICE

Have fun at your New Home Orientation at 9 A.M., then grab your keys from Cheryl, our closer, at 11:00 A.M. Enjoy your first of many days in your new energy-efficient, functional, personalized, one-of-a-kind Hanson home. Our staff is always here should there be a problem or question about your home. In fact, David, your full-time service professional, is on-call during the day, ready to serve you.

From vision to closing takes anywhere from five to eight months, and we have designed the process so you will enjoy every step, every interaction, and every day in your new home.
